You only learn from experience, so as much as someone can tell you things, you have to go out there and make your own mistakes in order to learn.
“Cut to 29, and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I feel so stressed and anxious. And I realise it’s because there is suddenly this bloody influx of subliminal messaging around. If you have not built a home, if you do not have a husband, if you do not have a baby, and you are turning 30, and you’re not in some incredibly secure, stable place in your career, or you’re still figuring things out… There’s just this incredible amount of anxiety.”
It’s exciting to me that people are seeing me in a different way because it means they’re allowing me space to grow and change and they’re having an open mind to the fact there might be other sides of me which they haven’t really seen and that haven’t been explored yet.
If you truly pour your heart into what you believe in, even if it makes you vulnerable, amazing things can and will happen.
I don’t want other people to decide who I am. I want to decide that for myself. I want to avoid becoming too styled and too “done” and too generic. You see people as they go through their career and they just become more and more like everyone else. They start out with something individual about them but it gets lost.
It’s a journey and the sad thing is you only learn from experience, so as much as someone can tell you things, you have to go out there and make your own mistakes in order to learn.
