There have been hard moments in my career when I’ve had an agent or a movie producer say, ‘You are making a big mistake.’ But what’s the point of achieving great success if you feel like you’re losing your freakin’ mind? I’ve had to say, ‘Guys, I need to go back to school,’ or ‘I just need to go home and hang out with my cats.’ People have looked at me and been like, ‘Is she insane?’ But, actually, it’s the opposite of insane.

“The story of my life has been of public interest, which is why I’ve been so passionate about having a private identity. When I step into a character, people have to be able to suspend their disbelief; they have to be able to divorce me from that girl. And not having everyone know every single intimate detail of my entire life is part of me trying to protect my ability to do my job well.” — Emma Watson

nicole-kidman:

We think we live in a post-feminist society, and we do not. So we’re told we don’t need feminism anymore, that we have the vote and we’re all good. And I think, actually, that’s incredibly disconcerting because then when young women move into the world and they realize, ‘Oh, why am I not being paid the same? Why am I being treated differently?’ And they start to blame themselves, because they don’t understand they’re part of a historic pattern. They’re part of a much larger system which is working a little bit against them.
